& Producers

Jazz North supports a vibrant network of promoters and producers across the north of England.

If you’re promoting jazz or jazz-related genres in the North of England then we would love to connect with you. We’re here to support you at any stage of your career. Below are just some ways we are working with promoters.

Jazz North Northern Line

Feb 2023: See latest information for booking Northern Line artists:

Looking to develop your jazz programme? Did you know we offer a roster of high-quality northern bands with subsidised fees? Gigs for the current Northern Line bands must take place before 31st August 2023 (contact for details and exceptions).

Jazz North’s Northern Line is our flagship scheme for northern jazz artists who want to get more gigs, develop their careers, and reach a wider audience. We bring the highest quality artists from across the geographic and stylistic breadth of the north to promoters and producers.

Artists on the Northern Line roster benefit from subsidy towards their fees, allowing promoters to take more risks, try new music and bring more jazz to audiences.

Check out the Northern Line page for more details on our current artists.

Join our promoter Zoom drop-ins

These drop-in sessions with Jazz North’s Programme Manager, Heather, allow promoters to share their experiences and knowledge with peers across the sector. Covering a broad range of topics and some informal chat, it is a chance to feel connected and develop relationships.

Each month, there are two opportunities for promoters to meet:

Promoter Drop-in

Join our promoter drop-in to connect to other northern jazz event organisers and learn from shared experience. Over the past year, promoter drop-ins have provided a platform to navigate through the changing guidelines and circumstances surrounding the pandemic.

We’re teaming up with Northern Jazz Promoters to offer bi-monthly sessions with some brilliant invited guests. So far in this series, we’ve heard from Attitude is Everything’s Charter Manager, Natalie South-Law, Black Lives in Music Director of Operations, Roger Wilson and manchester jazz festival & Jazz North’s Steve Mead. Sign up to our mailing list for more information.

Touching Base

Touching Base is a monthly drop-in space for artists, promoters and those working in the northern jazz sector. Aiming to continue the dialogue between artists and organisations, this monthly drop-in session offers a chance to bring us all together to share ideas, experiences and most importantly, stay connected.

Find out more on our Events page for dates, times and topics.

Email if you want to come along to one of the regular Zoom drop-ins for jazz promoters. Sign up to our mailing list at the bottom of this page and select ‘promoter’ to get information about future dates.
